Post MAF question

anyone have any experience with upgrading the MAF on a 3.2l motor? Specifically what performance gains were made with the addition and was it worth the price paid? Thanks.

I'm less sure about the 3.2 motor than the 3.6 motor, but at least for the 3.6 the aftermarket MAF kits didn't do much for power and torque unless other performance mods were also made. Years ago MAF kits were advertized for $2000 and claims of impressive perfomance gains were made, but the mass air flow sensors came to be known as "mass cash flow devices." But again, I've read that if you do the other things (e.g., cams, pistons, improved breathing), the MAF and throttle body kits can help the 3.6 significantly.

I have a Autothority MAF/Chip combination on my 3.2 and while I can't compare to stock unit (never had it) find that the lack of moving parts alone is attractive. Jim's dead-on with his post. . . noticeable benefits will be received when combined with exhaust and other upgrades.
