the main seal in my 996 was just replaced and I now get a pronounced squeaking sound when depressing the clutch pedal.

any ideas why?

No.

I guess I'll be the first one to tell you that there is a separate forum specifically for the 996 models. This particular forum is for the earlier air-cooled 911s.

Ask on the other Forum and I'm sure you'll get some feedback.
