My 86 930 has the CHMSL mounted on the rear windscreen as well.

As far as the periscope brake lights, they were fitted to all cabriolet models, and there were two kinds - one shorter, one taller. the taller one was fitted to the cabs that also had a spoiler.

However, they have been seen on turbo coupes, and I specifically have seen one on an '87 turbo coupe, but I've never seen one on any narrow-bodied coupe or targa, with or without a tail.

Also, the third brake lights were only on US cars.

My early 88 targa didn't have it.

And as you can see, it can barely be seen above the tea tray. This is the shorter version of the periscope. If the car had been originally fitted with the tea tray, the car would have received the taller periscope third brake light.

Found this link about the third brake light:

My plan is to remove the tail and E.T. light from my '87 coupe, and go "fastback." According to this post I should put the light in the "lower" position. I imagine running the wires will be easier for the "lower" position, hopefully.
