I will see what I can rig up to measure. I saw pelicanparts had a tutorial on measurement I might give that a try. Just want to make sure its right.

The 245/45/16 is the same height as a 225/50/16. But you had 245/50/16, which is much taller.

The 245/45 is what I cited as a popular/proper tire size upgrade onwhat is probably "thousands" of SC/Carreras in the original thread on this issue. Go ahead and use those 225's up and then get a proper set of 245's back there.

So it wasn't the width but the height of what the previous owner put on that was the cause of the rubbing? Just want to make sure I'm getting it right.
On a side note: replaced my vacuum lines today and my surging idle went away! Might be crazy but it seems to respond better. Lines to the distributor were cracked to hell.
