Default 1987 transmission carrier/mounts

For a 87 911 with the stock G50 transmission, it appears that if the transmission mounts are to be replaced , the entire carrier must also be replaced, cost of $500-$700 depending on dealer sales. (part # 911 375 031 09). Is this correct or can these mounts be replaced with mounts say from a 1986 911 and resuse the carrier?? I would prefer to stay stock mounts.

Thanks for any advice

chuck

Chuck,

The '86 and older cars used the 915 transmission, not the G50 that you have so the transmission mounting console is different and not interchangable.

Those run $663, but cheaper from certain dealers.

You might find a used one, however it may not be in better condition than the one you currently have.

Wevo makes semi solid replacement mounts for that carrier.
