Hi:
I have a modded stock muffler with a right side exhaust added. I cut the valance and even went so far to use a flat blade locking pliers to gently curve a lip after I made the cutout ( like a fender lip). If you pad the jaws and go slowly by bending a little at a time, you can do a good job. I then used a rubber Cratex tip and Dremel tool to dress up the lip before painting. Looks very factory...

There is much better way of doing this. It is to purchase a RUF twin outlet rear center valence and a right side valence with a diagonal mold, not cut, to match the other side. Typical RUF stuff of excellent quality. Being the **** perfectionist that I am, that is the only way I would go if I were running a twin outlet muffler.

I have an 84 Carrera and I added a Fabspeed premuffler along with my new dual exhaust Dansk performance muffler. I cut my own rear valance and it wasn't too difficult even though I had to cut it twice as my new pipes are much wider than the stock one so I mismeasured. No biggie, though. The hardest part was getting it to fit again in the stock holes as it will undoubtedly bend on you while you're messing with it. Also, be aware you'll probably scratch it once or twice so some touch up paint will come in handy.
