No doubt, and we have tons of issues. I just laugh when people from elsewhere point at us thinking we're the only ones. There's plenty of bad government spread throughout the land. And even if your fortunate to live in a state that is in better shape than most, such as Texas, we're all still under the watchful eyes of Washington DC.
Hedging an economy with legislation while casting aside justice, personal responsibility, and accountability is robbery. Please write/call/email YOUR servants in govt. from you school board to your president and demand their audience.

You shouldn't be able to spend what you don't have. But then again, CA was the epicenter of the housing bust. Read the book titled "The Big Short" and get a better understanding of the lending rules in force (i.e. NONE). If this book doesn't **** you off I can't help you.
I think the stuff will hit the fan if the US taxpayer is asked to bail out the states that have been run by incompetent fools for years. I'd hated to think we'd all pay for someone else's stupidity even though we all allowed ourselves to get dinged in '08 for the CDO/GM/ bailout.
Read the National Review article again and wake up. (California).
If anyone desires to move their business back east I'm quite sure I can arrange for you to meet county officials that would offer tax incentives plus a great workforce that will show up and a community happy to have you. Do you really think doing business in California is easy? IT IS NOT AND NEVER HAS BEEN.

It's like my dumb older brother took Dad's Mercedes out for a joyride, and is about to crash through the guardrail with me in the back seat, next to little sister, and Mom in the passenger seat. It feels like a bad dream, but it's real. The legislators of this country are doing that bad of a job.
