Looks different to me. Either a Paint-to-sample, or a color change respray. I'm not sure this is a factory color. Not my style, but any 911 can look good with bare-metal Fuch's "pedals". It was popular on the early 930s.

Eric shipped the oilpan and headers to Van's house friday.... including the engine, transmission and parts, head work that's going to be done to pass 500 hp, the breakdown looks something like this....

swap parts................................................................... ............... ~$5,000
headers, Y-pipe & exhaust..............................................................~$2 ,000
engine, wiring harness, computer, serpentine/accessories, headwork......~$10,500
transmission, parts, partial rebuild.....................................................~$5,500
Van's labor................................................................... ................~$4,500
odds and ends.................................................................... ..........~$600??

total................................................................... ............... about $29,000

wish i could have had it all done already but, i'm also currently getting the bodywork completed on the 997 lower front valence.... https://rennlist.com/forums/968-foru...lastics-2.html hopefully, the swap will happen before the end of the summer.

Doug,

i travel... and sometimes, i carry more luggage than a 911 can hold (my 968 with the rear seat delete has enough space for about 12 big duffle bags). i purchased the 968 with the intention of owning it a very long time (like forever), so the money in the car is not really that important as long as it doesn't break the bank. the total for the 968 project will be about $70 k. not that unusual really. a lot of people have rather expensive 944/968 project cars. driving a good one is pretty fun.... for a second car -- i already have two Escapes down in Mazatlan, but i'll probably keep them down there (might sell one of them).... i might be running surf camps for part of the year again soon, but (still not sure yet). i would be also be interested in a Cayman or 997.... but later this year i'm taking over the condo in Ft. Lauderdale from mom and pop and i don't want to take out a loan to pay for it. so i'll be 'thin' (fancy word for broke) for a couple more years.

yeah, 'thin.' that's it.

Ice Green Metallic looks like this. Was a color around 1977.

hey Bray and you 911 guys..... i've been doing an update to help my front engine p-car actually look somewhat like a Porsche. took some more pics today of my progress.... not finished by any stretch. still have to scupt the airways, install the grills and lower 997 lip pieces. hope you all like it.

well, after the LS3 goes in i'll race you 'round the ramp at Copans Road.

i assume you know that scenic ramp pretty well.

are any of you all following the three epic 993 vs 964 threads (two having since been closed off to further participation ?) may still be too close to call at this stage but it appears we've got a legendary thread now fully in the works on OT... for you "users," this might be the perfect opportunity to upgrade your membership and learn about 964s, ,sex lines, online prostitution, the S&L scandel of the late '80s, Porsche 993s, Michael Robert Milken disgraced New York Governor Elliot Spitzer, Seinfeld, Newt Gingrich, Fema camps and how they may or may not in fact, be tied together — on a single thread.... ,

1. original closed thread # 1;

2. closed thread # 2;
