New one is set to go in. I need to stop by Porsche and get a new hard brake line, so I'll buy two new screws. New sensors are on order, and the engine will go back in probably this weekend if weather holds. I didn't opt for a conventional puller because I don't want to press on the input shaft (bad). And the Bentley suggestion of wire would resemble a bad tailhook/ landing cable accident on an aircraft carrier.

You cheated with the head temp sensor... I did mine with engine in the car. Made my own socket that turned out nice.

Well, I like those jack stands--no matter WHAT the freight is! Safest ones I have ever owned.

Wow, Doug. I can't see any really easy way to do it with the engine in. For one thing, the grommet would be a thumb killer.

I have a slide hammer set somewhere. I should have tried that.

I'm thinking it was from behind the left rear wheel.

I did my CHT in the car - on a lift.... took me < 30 minutes and I didnt think it was much of a big deal at all... at home on the floor I know I would have been screaming - one of those jobs where the right tool (a high lift and some special sockets) pays off

I'd estimate that the OP has been edited over 100 times. It's basically been like watching a student formulate his senior thesis.

The frustrating part of it all was trying to respond to a subsequent post only to find the post gone or edited before we were able to hit Submit Reply.

seriously it's annoying when someone asks for ignition wiring information and you post about v8 swaps. I don't even look forward to seeing your avatar anymore--I know what's coming.

We shared some well-wishes on your behalf...cheers.

Thanks a lot. This is one pampered car, except when she is getting spanked at the track. One of my all time favorite cars. She shares a garage with my avatar
