Locking Lug

i use a 3/4" hole saw to cut out the remaining lower piece. it fits over the stud fairly closely and doesn't damage the wheel. the remaining bit of aluminum on the stud can be removed with a sharp pointed punch.

but the regular lugs are silver and the ones under the locking cover are black. that would look bad.

WHEELS ARE 7 AND 8 FUCHS. Painted centers.
Performance products/ Automotion says the Co. that made them is out of business, chisel them off, tough shise. That means I have 4 wheels not removable from the 911. The broken key (stud with 5 pins sticking out) is marked A6.

Mrdi, because I am softhearted (HEARTED!, NOT HEADED), I just went downstairs, and looked at my key, was gonna mail it to you if it was marked "A6". It wasn't. Just get the damn things off any way you can, and break down and buy 20 nice, new nuts. Perf prod has a 20% off sale that expires tomorrow.

Sorry planter, I forget that not all pcars have black Fuchs and lugs to match. You'll be buying new ones or spending hours on the the black ones with a wire brush attachment for your moto tool.

As near as I can tell, anytime you follow John Walker's advice, you've done the right thing. I have removed many locking lugs in just the way he described, with great success. Just have a friend or trustworthy wife spot you to see that you are square so you don't mess up the threads on the studs. If you do all 4 at the same time, you won't end up cussing yourself at the roadside in the rain.
If I was a car thief, I would just take the whole car rather than waste time on the wheels.

Hello
In germany porsche dealers have a special tool to remove brocken nuts and defective locks. But most locks can be burst away.
I would recomend to ask your local streetgang for a tire lock expert.
Working on Fuchs is very easy but in the deep holed Cups or Telephone you need theright tool.
