I probably have at least two or three sitting somewhere in boxes, if you're interested. May take me awhile to locate them............

Ken,

I certainly would be interested. I've been pricing these out over the past week so I've a baseline relative to a brand (Porsche) new one. The key, for me, (assuming all else equally ok) is the integrity of the latch point (intake side of the box) point (does it show any signs of fractures, that is). Should I be able to find a box where a buyer would double check such, I'd surely like to engage you on this.

As well, I appreciate your offer. As noted, mine's 1989.

Please feel free to PM with your findings?

BEST!

Doyle

Forgot to state the pricing:

"""""It retails for 227.61 and your cost would be 193.47""""""""""". (PCA discounted)

Best!

Ken is the man. I feel he would know what he is looking at...unlike the average parts counter monkey. This accounts for a lot when dealing with any part.

Enough with the flattery. I'm going out to the shop today, and I'll look through stuff there. But if they're with the "junk" up at my Petaluma warehouse I won't be going back up that way until mid-January.

I asked for a shot of the backside,..but go....this is the only pic they'll provide...

I asked 'em whatz'up with the "modification" mention....awaiting the reply.

Price isn't that bad , at all (NEW? WTF?).

Still awaiting some other's posts for a used one in "great" condition........ will go from there.

The pic looks to be the real deal,..I welcome other's observations...

Best,

Doyle

Looks like the real deal to me. I don't know what the modification is all about. I wonder if it is some attempt to mitigate what has happened here - to your old box on the car.
Plastic/rubber parts can deteriorate with age, I think an old piece(used) could be intact, but ready to break. A used piece kept in storage is a better option. A new piece from Porsche may, in fact,be as old or older than your original. There is a date stamp on it somewhere.
Glad to see everybody has Holiday "projects".

Sfudying the PET diagram, the "converted" statement is talking about the intake manifold - the rest of the intake (runners). In other words, you're just getting the plastic. That is how I construe it.
Porsche parts/manuals are(were) written in German and then translate to English. Porsche told me that they let the English languge students at the local(germany) Collage translate the literature. You will occasionally come across poor wording.
