Default Anyone have any leftover heater plumbing items?

Now that the motor leaks no oil, it is time to give the heater a go. I lost the reducing tailpiece from the RH heater valve that the hose from the heat exchanger feeds to. Although I have B&B headers, I have the heat option on them. It's cold out for a while, and I refuse to put the top on.

Part 911 659 119 00, and it is NLA.

Several parts with that part #...

My guess is that you get to make a new one or try your luck on the dismantlers.

make a new one. Measure it up, model it out of chipboard, find an old pie tin or cookie sheet in the kitchen and cut away. When you've got your size just right tack weld it for a final fit, then hit it with a bead weld and some high heat paint and you are good to go.

See how easy that was....

I'm not sure what part that is, but I bet you could make one Ed.

I'm sure I can, and may give it a go Sunday. I figured with all of the race cars around, someone has an "extra".

I'll get to dismantlers if needed, but I bet that turns into a $50 part, or worse.

You might be able to adapt a reducer from the exhaust parts bin at your neighbourhood auto parts store.

That's a great idea. I was actually going to roam the plumbing/HVAC aisles at Home Depot.

Hi, Ed. I'm trying to plumb heat to the passenger compartment in our car also. The car has headers only (no heat exchangers), and no plumbing is hooked up to the headers. I'm hoping my Porsche tech can fab something to at least plumb radiant heat to the floor boards from the headers!

You may be money ahead selling what you have and buying either B&B headers with heat or SSI's. To make it look presentable and be durable and effective, probably won't be cheap.

Got one on its way from Dan Pechtel @ carsinc. I got the LH hose on and lubed the dampers. The autoheat servo and footwell blowers still work!

In retrospect, a reducer woulda required some work-it is a tight space between the end of the header heat box to the damper.
