Very nice looking car. I wonder what DE-prepped means? All 911's, if well-sorted, are De-ready, hence "prepped". I think the words modified or "improved" are more apt? "DE-prepped" seems like an odd classification.

Hi, Ed. My previous thread describes all the track goodies the previous owner installed on this '88 Carrera

https://rennlist.com/forums/8071871-post1.html

I suppose one could call our '88 Carrera "modified"? The body work (at least the front and rear bumpers) don't look stock. The interior's not stock. The previous owner has Alcantara "leather" in a lot of places. He removed the rear seat backs, and replaced the stock rear seat cushions with custom-fabbed and Alcantara-upholstered rear seat cushions. The roll bar is welded, powder-coated, and padded. It's all very nicely done. When you sit in the car, it's comfortable. It's not until you fire up the Farmer Automotive 3.4-L flat-six racing motor--with only headers and silencers (no cats or heat exchangers)--that's when things get raucous. I love it though! Our '88 Carrera's a wolf in sheep skin.

Oh, I guess my car is DE-prepped. Hadn't thought to limit it to that classification, though.

Hi, Bart. They are Recaros, but I don't know what model. They are comfortable and supportive. Thanks for the thumbs up. I've been very happy with the purchase so far. I'm trying to get some seat time in through a few twisty back roads, but for now I'm loving the 911 experience!

I did mean take the RUF wheels off while tracking as they are very heavy. I do love the look for the street though.

Porsche "Big Red" brakes fr/rr are why this car NEEDs 17-inch wheels; 16-in Fuchs will not fit over these brakes.

The switch for your sunroof is a rocker switch below your gas gauge.

Thanks! In the cooler weather I've already been able to "walk" the rear end at low speeds through a few turns around the roadways. I'm loving the "911 experience" so far.

Yes. My Porsche tech showed me where this switch, and the L and R side mirror switch. Interesting place to "hide" these rocker switches LOL.

A name came to me for this car--"Rolf".

great looking car, i bet it's a blast to drive. those who DE/race regulary know what "DE prepped" means.

i sold my E36 M3 racecar and just bought a 78 911SC. I'm building another BMW racecar, but look forward to occasionally tracking the 911

Wow, that must be why I asked the question. Maybe I should get signed up for some track time, so I'll get educated.

Then, I'll be able to design a car. Then, if I got more educated and developed some skills, I could build it? Although, I may not have that capability.

Looks great, and I bet it's a pile of fun to drive.
Enjoy!
