Default Buying this 83 SC...........

It is going for a PPI tomorrow since I am in Denmark and the car is in US. I have had a couple of 911s earlier. Doesnt the tranny look a little black from oil? What could be the cause?

Have had 3.2s and 3.6 earlier.....going the wrong way for me

That is one nasty looking tranny.
I would look closely for oil leaks and broken head studs.

Good luck.

No ... mine is very, very clean. But I race it. I'm under there quite a lot looking for anything 'wrong'. It needs to be clean to establish a baseline.

The one you're considering seems unusually dirty, but I'm not sure that's a big negative. Clearly, oil is coming from somewhere and over time is accumulating. Might be very minor but I'd ask the current owner to explain it ... and include it in your PPI check list.

Good luck.

Just a ton of years coupled with slight seepage and not cleaning will make it look like that

Car just doesn't give me that warm fuzzy feeling and for that price it is in 3.2 Carrera territory.

Also try to fine one with the "Sports" seats.

Did you take it out of the car? Will you do that to the one I am looking at?
