Question "Clunking" in 915 Transmission?

I just had a new clutch and associated components put in my '78SC, and noticed something unusual. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if it was there before the new clutch or not.....

When sitting in neutral, with the clutch out, everything seems fine. If I push the clutch in and hold it, I can feel a slight "clunking" through the stick shift. Both the transmission and clutch seem to work perfectly.

Is this anything to be concerned about?

I'd do the usual: check your shift coupling and make sure the set screw is tight. On the front end, under the shifter, ensure that the bushing is near new and that the set screw under the "bucket" that holds the bush is tight as well.

The 915 is a balky shift at best. Can you be more specific on the clunking (trans/motor mounts)?

Thanks for the input....If you could imagine a valve lightly tapping on the stick shift, that's what it feels like. I seem to feel it when I move the shift lever to the sides of the shift gate......
