Default Nice street race...

Just got back from a thrilling race "round the bays race" with a Harley Davidson. Walked away from the bike around corners and on the straights. The old girl still had the horses and grip to keep ahead of a modern bike. Got a nice compliment on how quick the car was for a 26 year old. Reminds me of how great it is owning a 911 sometimes!

Any one had some good times in their car lately...?

(Apologies in advance to those who never exceed speed limits and always use their Porsche sensibly and responsibly. You may care to search posts on OEM correct, quality "nut polish".)

I had a V6 in mind, any garden variety GT is a wicked street fighter.

agree even tho solid rear end new pony is quick & even quicker in the twisty bits is new shelby cobra, which C&D reviewer pulled .89g (200ft. skidpad....corvette zr1 .95 , new porsche turbo .91, bmw 328 .89) but mustang is 1/2 price of ZR1 and approaching 1/3rd price of porsche turbo.
only mustangs with IRS were 03/04 cobras.... with some mods very good handlers.

WTF was it, a Vespa? I ran Palomar recently with a new BMW SS1000R that had better than 200HP. There was no way I could begin to keep up with it.

We also had Carrera GT, two F430's, an 800RWHP Viper, the new Cadillac CTS V (Manufacturer's press car), a ZR1 Vette. I was by far the slowest.

Thank God we had a very twisty road.

Ahhh, sheeeiiiiitttt!! You're right: don't feed the troll.

At least when I do stupid stuff, my car is up to snuff. If I goof up, I think I'm the only one that will eat it. Please refer to post # 40 on this thread:

See anyone familiar there? And if he deletes it, go to post #42 where it is immortalized.

be interesting to know who was quickest (zr1, f430, or p-car)........i've been in a viper several times very quick straights - bit of a pig in the turns but actually nice as a dd (except for mileage)

We were all in a fairly consistent pack going up the hill. I will say the CTS was cooking its differential and the Viper was spitting oil from somewhere at the top. I did have R Compound tires, and the rest except the Viper were on street tires. When we got to the valleys and straights, I had no chance against any of 'em.

Quick Reply: Nice street race...
