Post Distributor rotor won't come loose!!!

Sorry to flood the board, but why won't my distributor rotor come loose? The cap came off easily, there's nothing out of the ordinary. But the #@$!&! rotor won't come off. If I try any harder I know it'll break. I couldn't find anything on Rennlist or Pelican. Please help, else I take out my hammer!

Take a Dremel tool or hand-held hacksaw blade and, with the distributor out of the car, gently saw it in half and remove from the distributor post. This will give you a chance to clean the dist as well.

It comes down to saving your dist. or your rotor, and I think you must be nice to the dist. Don't pull at it or cause any problems for the dist. or your car is not going to run right.

Tim after you get it off, have a look. I have heard cases where this thing is glued on. Why, don't ask. Anyhow if yours was one of these, obviously you would want to clean it up. Good luck.

If you haven't already destroyed the rotor, take a plastic mallet and give it a light tap straight down on the rotor. Sometimes that is enough to get it to break loose.
