Default Opinion need on 1976 911

Hello,

I am new here and would like an opinion regarding this 911. Does this look like a fair price for such a car? Any other suggestions on what to look for, be aware of, etc. Thanks in advance... Here is the link

No No No. Look at the gap between the rear fender and wheel. I wouldn'tt touch it at half that price.

Wow, you spotted that well. How could this be though? The right rear wheel being much farther in than the left rear?

is there a panel correctly installed on that car? It was either in a major accident where the chassis was tweaked - or it was put together by a bunch of kids with 10mm rachets.

passenger side door gaps look way off - front hood, drivers front fender leans in. No spacers on the rear wheels (and it looks like stock studs too)

it's orange, and shiney though.

I would say that is one shiny turd

just looking some more at that droopy drivers fender and thought I would look at the pic of the battery.. LOL check the battery hold down clamp

I thought the hood might be popped open its so far off, but I think that's the way it is, rear deck is funny too... passenger side is lower - drivers side is "up" so its tweaked somehow too

is the passenger door touching? man that's a close gap !

sunroof??? no???

tires look 1000 years old and dry rotted, someones gonna kill themselves if they take their new car out and "see what it can do"

Not much info to go on, but I really like an early turbo. Those cars can really look good.

What "collector" did they buy from that didn't have a receipt for every cent he'd ever spent on the car?

The early turbos have some really cool color and interior patterns floating around out there, and the bright trim definitely looks the part.... The biggest problem I see is that you are paying 930 money, but you are getting a smaller non intercooled engine, and smaller brakes. For me the only turbos to have are '79+.... and if you don't like paying a small fortune for front rotors, it has to be even later than '79. If you're not interested in driving the car then a turbo look carrera would probably still be better. Just my thoughts, to each their own. Obviously all the cars still sell, so there are pleanty of people who would disagree with me.

Everyone is being pretty critical, but I've seen a LOT worse than this car. Gaps and panel fit is off in places, but I bet a good body person could get most of that corrected with some careful shop time.

The interior is quite nice with fresh carpets, late '80's seats and trim in good shape. Even an aging Kenwood cassette helps keep the mood in the '80's.

Rear wheel could simply be fixed with the right spacer and studs.

Paint had enough spider web scratch marks from incorrectly washing...though a good detailer will refresh that paint easily.

The 3.0 liter motor is a huge plus and if it indeed has 50,000 miles on it, that motor is barely broken in and with good maintenance will last 3 times that mileage without any major work.

Yes, someone will spend a few bucks making this car perfect and correcting some of the errors, but if you want a 3.0 liter Turbo look car in orange with chrome Fuchs, this might be a car to look at closely. I agree with others that the $24k asking price is way too high though. But, everything is negotiable...

I say if the original poster is interested in this car, go for it. Keep your eyes wide open while investigating, but it's a good looking 911 in my book.

Finally, a 76 widebody with a 3.0 and polished fuchs in a lovely shade of orange. Wow a kenwood deck for that 80s feel.

A terrible car, maybe not. ...a nice car, maybe not...a collector/investment car, no. Way overpriced. Should have just left the car alone. Seems like we saw this car with a 912E motor in it in another thread, no?
