Question clutch question

I have a 1980 911 and my mechanic explained to me that the clutch is not the type of clutch you typically find in today's cars and should not ever need to be replaced.

What's he talking about...I heard that I should replace it with a spring centered clutch if its rubber centered but I dont know which it is..

clutch life averages 80K miles. more or less depending on how you use it. use the spring center unit at replacement time.

who is your mechanic? A lifetime clutch?
The Porsche pressure plate is a bit different
in that it uses a pull vs push actuator.
But the clutch disk still wears.
