Default Is this wear on these brake pads normal?

Today I changed out all the pads on my '88 Carrera. All had the same wear pattern on the back side of the pad. The piston has a raised area on the leading edge and slightly digs into the pad metal backing.

The left one in the photo is the outer pad from the passenger front. The right one is the inner pad from the same location.

Is this normal?

Looks ok, eyeballing it. I posted a template to make your own 20 deg. piston alignment tool, a while back.

The key is how are they wearing on the business side, and are you happy with the way your car stops?

This is not a scam. You really can get something for nothing. I did. LOL Thanks, Ed.
