That is awesome, thanks!

That, my friends, is the Stig's American cousin. I'd love to know the suspension specifics and the rubber he had on that car.

Those are kph, but he was in the 260's at some pounts-that's about 160 mph. That's why I'd like to know more on the specs of that thing.

Looks a lot like the super-rare Ford Thunderbolts of the time.

They were Fairlanes with 427 side-oilers and designed and intended for NHRA competition. Given the heritage and success of the Holman & Moody operation for Grand National and Winston Cup cars, this one's clearly prepped for track use.

They used to run similar big block US cars in the British Saloon Car Championship in the 1960's. Still do now is Classic events.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWp-0TuY4Sk

Whats interesting about the 'formula' is the mix of cars, 1200c Mini's right up to 6 litre with no penalties, this clip is a cracking race 1600cc Ford against a 5.7 litre Camaro

Here is a little insight. This is good stuff for the road racers out there. Ed, you may enjoy since you recently finished the GT40 book.

Thanks for posting this, very cool video!!

As for American cars in Europe, when I lived in Vienna, Austria there was a Corvette club, I'll tell you it didn't matter what other exotic car makes were around when there was a car show, tons of people just crowded to see the Corvettes, it was very cool.
