Default New seats

I thought I'd share these photos of my new seats - Recaro Expert M in leather - in my 78 SC. Much more comfortable than the old standards. I probably would have gone for the L model if they were available in US. But the M has lower seat bolsters than the L, which make it easier to get in and out, and may wear better. The seats are symmetrical, so they can be swapped them from time to time. Shoulda moved the recycling bins, though.

The version with the higher lower bolster would be the one to have, IMO-those look slippery. The side bolster is what will wear when getting in and out. How is the weight on those?

Weight with rails and adapter frame may be a few pounds lighter than stock, but not much.

Phil,
Now that you've had these seats for a few months have any pro or con's developed? I'm thinking of using these in a '74, I have the Recaro Trend in a different car and I like them, although I'd rather go with a lower seat bolster like the Expert M.

Also any one else reading this. I will go with a cloth material. I have the Nardo on the Trend seat so I know what that is, what is the Avus like? Is that the same material used on the RS America seats? Which one is better?

I was always a cloth seat guy - till I owned leather...if I was buying seats I would prefer leather, just saying - I have cloth now and they are fine but seem to show more lint and hair so they look worse too...

Yes, leather is nice but at the track with cloth your butt stays planted and you can concentrate on passing.......
