Spares kit for 87 carrera: Running Targa Newfoundland
So, my sister and a friend are racing in this years Targa Newfoundland, and I have been recruited to be her "crew". So I was wondering what you would take with you as "spares", which could be used to repair and keep the car on the road for a week. Clearly not taking a-arms, clutches and the like, but simple stuff that I can replace without a garage in a couple of hours.

I guess the usual stuff, dme relay, wire crimpers and connectors, air compressor, maybe a tire plug kit, flares, socket for alternator belt, belt, oil, flashlight, etc.
I would maybe carry an allen key, large pliers, spare wheel bearing and dust seal, as well as grease to change a front wheel bearing if you're really going to be prepared. Also a steel punch, maybe a torch etc.

Plugs, rotor & cap, brake fluid, spare bulbs, torque wrench and socket for lug nuts, a couple of round Red relays. That'a all I can think of at the monent.

I'd want a spare front strut insert and maybe a spare rear shock. I lost a front insert on the street once and the car was almost completely useless.
When you figure the rough roads combined with all the travel and event expense, I'd hate to miss it over something so simple as a blown shock.
I like the wheel bearing idea, and you could print a copy of the "Scruggs" alignment booklet. With a small off or curb it could help you get your alignment at least back in the ballpark.

With all due respect to the tool suggestions above.....I hope you'll have a fairly comprehensive tool set.
In addition: I'd include an extra reference sensor, a full complement of replacement relays and fuses, a 1/2 shaft with CV gaskets and CV bolts, replacement headlight lens, at least one rear and one front replacement wheel and tire.
That is a long event with a lot of chances for mishaps. I would take a spare A-arm. One pothole could sideline you if you don't have such spares.
