Hey .. it looks like in one pic the jack ins being used to hold up your decklid .. actualy it is a great shot .. i thouh we were getting close to somecopyright infringement

i don't do autocross or track , bit looking at that i would have NO idea where to go .. never mind at speed .. i would have to change my screen name to " cone killer "

burn through set of tires at all ? i would have though the lateral g's on a flat track would be hard on them Ed.

This was a tough track. It was hard to work with the cones. It took a lot of concentration, particularly the first couple of sessions. All the HP was also chunking up the asphalt too.

I probably knocked a couple of years off my paint.

Once we started laying some rubber down, we got more grip, but it still was slick in a few places. Good excercise for working on corrective maneuvers when the rear end kicked out.

Some more pics....a BROKEN brake line off the Spec Boxster that was running BEHIND me (notice: Objects in mirror are larger than the appear), my tires with a total of 4700 miles on them, my "crew" bailing on me, some eye candy:

eye candy is RIGHT !!
thats dreamy !

the "sea of cones" does take a bit of getting used to also. I think its much harder than a road circuit to find the lines and much more concentration because the "road" is not defined by natiral features

Here is the first vid. Not too rusty after almost a year (9/2009) away from a "track" event.

I like, at the end, you are heading in to a corner at a pretty good clip, then you shut off the camera.

What did you do w/o the cam on?

I smell a cover up.

nicer vid Ed.... 4th in a parking lot is FAST ! one thing I dont like about "cone tracks" is those heavy input corners... I hurt my wrist that way earlier this year and am now very protective of it...

we need more of these types of events in the USA

A lot of the cars in my group were on Hoosiers, and were a lot better drivers. The Black Carrera that I point by is the Chief Driving Instructor for the region. End of excuses!

It was fun. Although, with the wear and tear on the car, I started to stress a little. I cut my last session at 10 minutes-the lot was chunking badly, and many cars were calling it a day.

I wasn't for the Chargers trying to extort a new stadium in SD. Now, I'm on board!

(Sean-did you think I was turning the camera off, cuz I knew I was going to spin in two more corners? Also, it was pretty warm-think we may've hit 75F)

With all those light standards you don't need to make any excuses. Looks like a lot of fun. A lot more so than your normal Autocross and a lot easier on your car.

It will always be Jack Murphy stadium to me.
