Default Ruby's Journey

Well, her evolution. I think this is pretty cool.

Woot's post on the tail-icon got me thinking. This car has seen some changes.

3 tails.
6 sets of wheels.
1 paint job.
2 engine re-dos.
2 states
6 tracks

I've never owned one vehicle or even one house this long. I guess the fact that I've stayed busy on her always keeps her fresh and fun in my mind.

Here are some of her pics in chronogical order. See, she was stock, even a stock motor with an A/C compressor at one point. But, she's like the cosmetics or hair commercial where the model says: "I'm not older, I'm better":

Ed, great to see the changes over time. So when does the story start?
I bought my 84 targa in 88, didn't do much until the last 4 years or so, suspension, wheels, bumpers, tail, headers, roll bar, ....

It will be 10 years next year. I'm still relatively new to her.

Nice evolution Ed.
Have to say that the current configuration is my fav. :-)
This inspires me to do two things... go to a duck tail, & photo document any and all changes I make.

Ed very cool story. 10 years and you're new to each other, LOL, I haven't even made 10 months.

A little OT: a friend of mine recently bought a 2010 Camaro RS. I ran the power to weight ratio numbers (426 hp, 2860 lbs) and if you're making about 325hp, you're right with them. I know that there's more to our cars than 0-60 & 1/4 mile times, but it's amazing how relevant they are/can be if you keep upgrading them like you have.

Ed, what a nice metamorphosis. That's what I call graceful aging. Thank you for sharing. You have made me proud by stating that I was instrumental for this very nice thread. I never get tired of watching Ruby. I had a very very busy day on-call today and just about to hit the bed. This post has rejuvenated me for the rest of the weekend call. Thank you for taking the time for this compilation. What a great group of guys we have in this 911 section. I just love it.

You know, much like Ruby's evolution, this board changes too with people joining or fading out. Your time posting the icon series certainly brings out memories and prompts discussion. Thanks to you!
