Thinking about headers and a MK GT3 for my 3.2 street/track car.
For those of you who are running this setup or have seen/heard it: is it tolerable on the street or will the neighbors show up at the front door with torches and pitchforks?
I've heard it's somewhere between stock and 911R loud; ok for most tracks but maybe not Laguna.
Opinions please...........

I've had an obnoxiously loud muffler for some time. I just have to keep it cool before I get out of the neighborhood for early morning runs.
You really need to try it. My idea of loud or quiet is going to be different than yours, which is different than the next guy's.

I enjoy driving down the road with my SSI Borla setup and if I want, can cause all those car alarms to go off lol. If you get on it, it sounds loud, if your drive it easy it just sounds like a snarl and the car has a real motor under its lid

I think I'll have to make a quick video of mine after work today... What's the best method of sharing that? Youtube? I have a super secret exhaust on mine...it's almost unbearable at full song. It's something that I long for though, I guess it's like a S&M car or something.

For what it's worth, I love the look of the GT3... I'm not so keen on losing the valance (or cutting it, or getting a glass one to cut up)... but the look is pretty cool.
Here is a quick and dirty video of my 88 with a dual in-dual out muffler with headers...
Windows and sunroof open too! (not too bad) Outside the car is a whole different thing though.

I still agree with Ed... get it and try it. If you dont dig it, someone here will surely buy it from you. Or you might find one on the classifieds or ebay a little cheaper to lessen the blow if you end up not liking it. (shrug)

Hey Ricster, have you checked your garage lately, it IS yours!! Bwahahaha... ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Alfonso, thanks for the compliment. I dont have M&K on the car at this point. The exhaust is a custom-made setup that was on there before I bought it. It's all stainless steel. It has headers and a 2-in, 2-out exhaust with nice mandrel bent 3" tips poking out either side.
I'll get some more/better videos up soon...waiting for my dedicated HD car camera to arrive so I can make some more entertaining, higher quality videos.
As far as M&K goes... I am excited to try their race/track mufflers. But I like it loud.

I have the center our MK GT3 on my cabrio. I bought a fiberglass blank valance and cut it with a dremel and painted it with GP white paint I bought online to match. I wanted to be able to go back to stock.
I have Fabspeed premuffler 1 in 1 out muffler.
It is loud when you're on it and the motor is under load, but if you want to quiet it down for in/out of the 'hood, you just lightly give it some gas and it is only slightly louder than stock.
I'm happy with it and will try to get a video later today if it dries out today here in VA. (been meaning to get some vids forever anyway)
I can send more pics if you PM me.

If you're going up a grade/hill with the engine under heavy load, it can get loud/drone a bit. The fun part is going under bridges/overpasses and hearing the car well.
Video to come, need to get my buddy over to operate the camera and I'll post them.
