Default Car won't start... SOLVED!! My first DIY!!

Couple of weeks I posted a thread about my car suddenly not starting. I suspected the starter, but hadn't had time to bring it to the P-shop.

Yesterday I had a couple of hours to tinker about. So I decided to do my first DIY!! I managed to pop out the battery, replace it with a new one and as soon as I turned the key, it started right away.

Took it in the shop anyway, to see if there are any other issues like a bad charger or bad connection draining the battery.

Yay for my 1st DIY!!

Good job. Always a good day when you can do it yourself.

One of the best things you can do to constantly assess voltage conditions in your car is to have the ability to meter it,..real time. Some install meters (permament or temporary) , others make use of the voltage readout function of their radar/laser detectors (me).

Invaluable.

AGAIN,..good move to make sure that something didn't KILL that battery...nothing worse than throwing one in and not paying attention to the fact that something CAUSED it to fail, not of it's own accord.....

Inanycase,...good feeling when sheeit goes right,..no? Especially on these cars................

Best,

Doyle

Great. I suggest every owner get involved with their cars.
+100 on Shepps voltage monitering suggestion. Batteries and alternators can intermittantly fail and make for an elusive diagnosis. Battery is the #1 failure in most cases.
Thanks for the follow up.
