Default Optima Batteries

Doing another group buy of 30 Optima batteries. Any red or yellow top. Available for purchase now. Delivered direct to you from factor. Email me at decals944cup@aol.com to order.

Measure the battery in your car and select the Optima battery that best meets your needs:

http://www.optimabatteries.com/optim...wtop/specs.php

http://www.optimabatteries.com/optim...dtop/specs.php

Racers prefer the yellow top: D51 because it is a bit lighter at 26 lbs and the yellow top is also a deep cycle battery allowing it to be recharged from dead many times.

Per factory, Optimas are completely spill-proof, mountable in many positions. More than 15x the vibration resistance. Faster recharging capabilities.
Optimal starting power, regardless of temperature.

I have 50 pounds of weight I can loose on the SC. This may be a good start.

The optima doesnt really weigh any less than a regular battery. Its not done for weight savings, its done for the acid concern. Look up an Optima 34r (simuilar to the standard Gp 48 in size and pole placement) on Interstate's website... and the Gp 48 (MTP 91 - standard smaller 911 battery)... they are within 5 pounds of each other... interestingly enough both batteries are made by the same company...

Got a new supply of Optima's for the 2011 season. Same deal as last year. The sale of these batteries does help keep the 944 Cup race series going, so the proceeds go to a good cause, and you get a great deal on a great battery.

Email your orders or questions to me at decals944cup@aol.com. Thanks

I'd love one, but Optima doesn't make (or list) one for the '87-'89 Carrera. (Now I know how Charlie the tuna felt.)

Many Porsche models are not listed, but they have batteries that fit. Just measure your current battery and find a comparable model. Be sure posts are in correct location for your fitment.

I'm interested - from the folks who've gone to an Optima, what model/spec is best recommended for a 3.2 Carrera?

Thanks,
Dave

I put a 75/25 Red Top Optima in my 84, saved 11 pounds over the old hulk.

I went to a Red Top 35/75, had to change the ground cable, did the battery tray conversion(super simple) thats been listed here a million times and its perfect.

Thanks guys - seems that most folks have gone with the 75/25 (newer model number for 35/75, according to Optima), or the 34/78, which has slightly higher CCA.

Dave, I'll be in touch shortly.

Cheers,
Dave

Ditto on the 75/25 with the base mod to adapt to the tray.

They probably don't list one for any 911s because a 911 batt should vent to the outside of the car and not just into the Frunk.

Probably why I didn't see any under the seat Audis listed either.

Isn't it about the sizing and the incompatibility with the stock battery tray? I thought the Optimas were completely sealed (ie. no venting issue at all)?
