Flormat

I was speaking with a woman who used to bring grey market Porsches to the states in the eighties. She said she knows a person who just purchased a 1977 941. She said it's rear engined. The only rear engined Porsches in '77 that I can think of are the 2.7 911 and the 930. If this 941 exists it sounds like 941 is an internal designation. I asked if she was sure this person did not say 931 or 951 and she said she was sure. She also says she knows everything about Porsche, yet I had to correct her because she thought no 930 or 911 turbo was sold in the States. I told her only from 1980-1985. So, does anybody know what this 941 is?

Maybe that was a late 1976 "914" sold in 1977 plus a little dyslexia?
