Question GVW sticker in the door sill

Does the number mean the curb weight of the car, the maximum allowable weight, or something else? Mine reads 3700 (roundly) for an '89 Carrera. That can't be it's curb weight <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

GVWR is an abbr. for Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. It basically means... this is the highest total weight (vehicle, fluids, passengers & cargo) that the manufacturer certifies is safe to operate at & maintain compliance with all applicable laws. I'd guess your Targa's curb weight is closer to 2800 lbs.
