A Sunday at Van Sant Airport
In Tinicum Township , upper Bucks County, Pa is a historic grass-strip airport named Van Sant. If you are planning a drive with friends this is a wonderful place to park for a while; on a Sunday morning you will usually see some interesting old cars and quite a few motorcycles from Harley to Triumph to Husqvarna and Ducati.
A group of us went yesterday and it was perfect. The hangars are bulging with bi-planes and gliders; one of the glider pilots was nice enough to spend a half hour demonstrating to us how he operates the plane.
Here is a link to a youtube video about the airport. It is a great place for motorheads!

I have been around airports and puddle jumpers all my life. My father has been an instructor in the Seattle area since the mid 60's and still spends most of his time at the airport...
personally I was born too late to enjoy flying as I tend to like the though of landing on main street and pulling up the the car gas pump for fuel and then flying around at low altitude buzzing the fields and farms..
anyhow, I was about 10 or so when I got my first and only ride in an open cockpit... yup, now THAT is flying!
Nice vid!
