Changed the rotor, cap, plugs and it is now backfiring on deceleration. Now my 88 Targa feels sluggish like it's about to die out or something. Is this normal? Any ideas? Thanks all for your input.

Lots of ideas .... I just posted on changing plugs .. I just did it .. twice .. are you sure you got the firing order correct ? are you sure they are the right plugs ? are the new plugs gapped correctly ? are you sure the new cap is seated and keyed correctly ? is the rotor pushed firmly down ? are the wires firmly down on the cap ? i use dielectric grease inside the boot.
All else fails start undoing things .. also make sure you didn't knock off any connectors or hoses while working.

yea, thats normal ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
OK so it ran fine, you changed some parts and it runs like $hit... I suspect you did something wrong
Start by checking all the wires and making sure they are on the right plug. Then check the cap is seated correctly, and then if those are OK I am guessing you may have a plug in crooked?
check any wires or hoses knocked off frmo the work or maybe broken from leaning on them, check the wires are secured on both ends.....
dont drive it any more - start looking for what went wrong
