Yea, Ed these cars seem to stay clean while you are rebuilding the motor, then when it runs you don't wanna stop to wash it
I am sure its been over a month since my last wash, but it still looks ok - plus its still raining 70% of the time so why bother

IMHO, you will spend ALOT of money to get that last inch. Id stick with Euro height... maybe 1/2 inch lower... and call it a day. These cars are for driving, and IMHO cars like that white one cant handle the roads in the US without damage being done or $$$$$ being spent. In addition, the car will be so stiff in order to handle the height, that it will not be very enjoyable to ride. I have a complete elephant suspension kit (3k) plus CB and Alignment (600) and I did all the work myself (another 1k in labor saved).. my point is just that suspension is pretty spendy... and mine looks likes Ed's. I also take driveways and dips at an angle... I wouldnt think of going any lower and actually driving it... my wallet also couldnt handle it...

I'm VERY experienced in driving drastically lowered cars; that's not the issue. The main factors are $$$$ and the fact that it IS a porsche, and I would like to enjoy driving it, as opposed to constantly scanning the road for every crevice. I will probably end up going slightly below euro height.

It's good to hear you do want to drive it. As mentioned by several here, my car's height is about as low as reasonable. I think it looks great, and constantly get compliments on her. Anything lower really isn't practicle, and will soon start to look clownish.
Trust me, a well sorted SC/Carrera that is lowered reasonably, and is done right, will earn the respect of real car guys, no matter how many hundreds of thousands they've spent on their rides. If you simply want looks, as noted above, there are probably other less expensive routes.
I think that if you already own an SC, and take the time to learn about these cars, you'll discover what the rest of us already know: these are special cars like no other. Let your buddies play with air suspension, and park to show their cars off. Get out and enjoy your world-class sports car, that every other tries to beat.

That's exactly the way I'm looking at it, Ed. Your car does look amazing btw, perfect height to give the car a nice aggressive look. I'm planning to add some 8, 9x17 wheels, hopefully RUF's, and probably a carrera tail. I just want the car to look clean, yet intimidating.

Beautiful Targa Ed. Are 17" wheels the biggest recommended? I'm thinking about upgrading to 17" wider wheels. Any recommendations on where I can order some with tires? Aloha!

What's wrong with Asian cars, I have a S2000 that's a blast to drive and was a well designed and engineered car. I also have a Infiniti M45 Sport another Asian product that Nissan did a great job on developing. Most car enthusiat appreciated well engineer cars no matter where there made.

Yeah, but when you're driving a 911 on bump stops it just gets weird. I've yet to have (well, when I ran torsion bar cars anyway) a slammed car outperform any of my arguably "too high" cars. Race, time trial, autocross.......actual competition. Also, the bump steer sucks. Yes, there are ways around it in 2010. Do you want to spend nearly the price of the car on components to achieve a look, while still having a functioning car?
