some good looking cars hide horrors, some rough ones turn out fairly solid - if you're actively in the mkt, looking at all of 'em can't hurt. is a '72 E Coupe worth saving? for a few thou, a dedicated, patient & skilled enthusiast might make a nice 911 out of it (use a mid yr drivetrain (w/ healthy 2.7).
shops like to start w/ the best example possible... quicker / less work = better business case for them & the customer.
{disclaimer: some yrs ago I bought & sold a '73T basket case & bought a '72T driver...}

I've gotten clearance from the wifey, but now I've got cold feet. She's retiring at the end of the year, and now I'm getting paranoid about money. I'm mulling it over, they certainly have come down from when I was looking a couple of years ago. We'll see.
