At that price, and being bastardized, it looks like tragedy to me.

That car should be euthanized! There's hardly anything right about it. It's not even worth restoring without the original drivetrain.

Yeah I saw that and arrived at the same conclusion.

Hopefully all these guys with the big € signs in their eyes will come back down to earth considering whats happened lately across the pond.

some good looking cars hide horrors, some rough ones turn out fairly solid - if you're actively in the mkt, looking at all of 'em can't hurt. is a '72 E Coupe worth saving? for a few thou, a dedicated, patient & skilled enthusiast might make a nice 911 out of it (use a mid yr drivetrain (w/ healthy 2.7).
shops like to start w/ the best example possible... quicker / less work = better business case for them & the customer.

{disclaimer: some yrs ago I bought & sold a '73T basket case & bought a '72T driver...}

I'd say it may be worth saving if it didn't have the fenders hacked off and fiberglass bits added.

Dan Haggerty? I haven't heard that name in a while. I use to party with that Dood when I was a young buck living in Zooport.

LOL, the guy said he wants to take it easy and here everyone is telling him what to buy. Enthusiastic crowd!

Wow, hearing all you revertees or reconvertees speak out is really cool. After about 1 month, I'm still working a deal for my first porsche, an 89 coupe.

Ed Hughes, since you are looking for a 6GT3, it will be really interesting to get your impressions of it compared to Ruby with her 3.4 build.

I've gotten clearance from the wifey, but now I've got cold feet. She's retiring at the end of the year, and now I'm getting paranoid about money. I'm mulling it over, they certainly have come down from when I was looking a couple of years ago. We'll see.

Wasn't someone selling a 3.6 SC with suspension upgrades for 19 K ?

That was yesterday morning on Pelican. A couple of well built cars over there right now, but not cheap.

I saw a set of Ohlins on Ebay yesterday. And then there are the RSR brakes by the boys at Zuffenhaus. Lots of ways to cure boredom.

What a lump. I agree with Ked - lots of shabby cars out there with good bones, but any "father/son" project with FG flares is out of the question. There's 30K needed for that to be a rough driver.
