Trans. revision or replacement ?

Your shop probably does disagree that a simple swap to a new trans is not worth it - there out of a lot of labor. It may be advisable to find a known good, proper 3.2 trans with a warrenty. it may cost more now and take a bit of time, but this is the time to make good on the previous botches. I don't want to sound contrary, and mean no disparegment to your shop, but your best interest may be served by getting the proper gearbox.
