Icemans 2
Well Okay maybe "Oceans 11" has a better ring to it . But the heist pulled was very similar. I conscripted Russ last month to help me with one of the biggest heists ever. So between the 2 of us we pulled off a major operation.
The set up .
I was cruising Ebay one day and saw a truck load of CIS parts from a shop that was closing up in Fresno California, and the bid was very low. The catch was it was local pickup only , so before bidding I had to set up my connection. Got a hold of Russ . and after he figured out how to get the PM working .. ( gees I need to find better evil side kicks ) We hatched the plan.
The execution
I bid on the stuff and secured the merchandise the following week. I had a bit of a challenge reaching anyone but with Russ's persistance he got me some contact info together and made arrangments for the drop. Once he had the stuff he then packed it carefuly to throw off the Porsche parts sniffing dogs and shipped it all to Buffalo.
The Drop
This morning I made the trek over the border to pick it up. Went to see Bob Seager ,, yeah really Bob Seager... who held the packages for me and ten minutes later they were in the car .. just fit in my Maxima by about 1" to spare.
Off I went to the border and stopped at customs. They guy there was fixing up a 72 GTO and was very impressed with my score. He looked at my paypal receipt and my ebay win printout and let me go without paying any duty or taxes.. Bonus.
Busted !
Now of course when I got home the finance manager wasn't too impressed. So now i think I better just do the lawn and clean up the garage before opening my boxes ..
Thanks a lot to Rennlist and Russ as without his help none of this could have happened.
I will post pics after dinner with " the score" once I get it sorted what I have .. after all this is a technical forum .. I think the CIS guys might be impressed..

My finance manager is actually a finance director in her day job. She also doubles as the War Department when finances are not reconciled.
Congrats on the score and being a good Canadian by declaring the goods! Good on the customs agent who waved you through.
Did you go through Detroit or Sarnia?

Ice, I think we need a picture of your garage... from the sounds of it you've aquired enough spare parts over the years to build a 911 for each of us!
Sounds exciting... any plans for Icemans 3?

Well done Ice!!
I've been doing a similar deal down here!!
A "dealer" over there in the US, let's call him.......Steve..., has been helping me import some......"stuff"...... it's an ongoing business arrangement. I fact there should be another shipment on the water very soon.
As yet the deception has been complete and the authorities, let's call her......Colette......., has no idea the gear has been coming into the country right under her nose!

My finance manager never had a clue to the extent of my problem when I had an office to ship to. Now, she says it's Xmas every week and I'm getting a stream of presents. I can't complain-she told me I can get a GT3 (used), if I want. I'm the one with cold feet now, as I know that slope be friggin' steep!
Glad to hear you scored some goodies. CISrus has a nice ring to it.
