The 911SC is a wonderfully bulletproof vehicle. Just start with the electrics. Clean up every ground that you can find (and more!) Clean each fuse position. Age has really crept into those cars so you have some aging issues to reverse on that puppy. Air leaks will be commonplace on the CIS engine. Replace those hoses wherever you find them.
The SC is one of the finest Porsches ever made. They are easy to disassemble and reassemble.
Featherpillow,
Glad this forum was of help to you with your purchase of your new Porsche. As an owner, have you consider supporting Rennlist and becoming a member?
A 964 is more modern, more powerful too. But you will not get the same driving experience. I'd go with the Carrera over the SC to get the Motronic system instead of CIS. But SC's are loved too, and that is only my opinion. I think the Carrera is the best of both worlds into which you are looking.
Thanks alot for your insight on the differences. I've never driven a 911, but I have ridden in one. When I was about 13 years old, a family friend came over for dinner and pulled up in a black 83 SC. He took me for a ride in it, and I remember the acceleration being incredible! Hopefully I'll be in an SC or 3.2 in the next year or so.
not to Hijack but what happened to those Badges Shane ?
hoping to have them in a couple of weeks. The badgemaker had back to back deaths in the immediate family, one of which took him out of the country. They are being made.
