Post 7 n 8 Fuch redoo

The 7and 8x16 Fuchs go in tomorrow to Al Reed for a refinish. They are currently chrome w/ white centers. My 88 911 coupe is white.
Thought perhaps the satin aluminum finish with white center would be the choice.
Any comments or tips appreciated.
Thanks,
Mrdi

Polished with white centers should be fine too. Just get rid of that chrome. It's trouble with a capital T.

T is an understatement. Chrome is the worst, and the reason they are going in to the shop for refinishing.
A little beyond me why someone would treat thier Fuchs to that torture initially.

Hello,Mr MRDI
Al Reed did my rims for me about 8 Years ago. There are pictures posted in his shop. He did a nice job of triple plating, nickle, copper and chrome on the rims with black powder coating of the spokes. Diane hand painted the center caps. Guess what, they still look great.
You can see them at the Orange Coast White Gloves Concours Saturday June 15th at the South Coast Plaza. I'll be working the event. If you can come please introdroduce yourself.

I also have an 82 911SC that I am interested in refinishing my wheels. Please tell me a little more about the cost and what I should ask about when searching for someone to redo them.
Thank you.

Hi Ken,
Saw the pic of your coupe at Al Reed's.
They know who you are, in fact when I told them I was a PCA member they said Oh! You probably know Ken, he has a red coupe, see his pictures here. He's a great guy and if you ever go to DE, he's the guy who usually starts everyone with a big smile.
Cheers,
Mrdi

Ken and MRDI,

Who, what, where is Al Reed? My intent is to have the 16" Fuchs centers repainted in the period correct White-Gold metallic color (also same color as car). I have been debating whether to do it myself, or have my wheels "Enhanced".

Ken, if you were the starter/flagman, at the OCR sponsored lapping orgy, at Streets of Willow, last Friday cheers to you for a great job.

If my off track excursion got your eyre up, (it did get your black flag out), I appologize as I had no choice. I had to exit the track promptly to avoid intimate relations with the two cars trying extreme brake checks ahead of me!
