How much oil burned on smokey start up?
Hi all,
I am relatively new to the list. What a great wealth of knowledge out there. I have an 88 with 65k miles on it. It is not a daily driver anymore as I got sick and tired of getting it dinged and scratched at work. So I get it out for play about once a week now. The question I have is it smokes on start up about 3 out of 4 starts after sitting for several days. I know this is not unusual for 911s. What I am curious about is how much oil are we talking about? I seem to be using a bit more oil than I remember in the past. Valves seem quiet so I don't think I have the dreaded valve guide wear issue. At least I hope not. Can anyone offer any ideas?
