Default bmc or stock

What do you all suggest, stay stock for the airfilter or BMC? I have ssi's with a borla and SW chip. 3.2 carrera. I heard that the stock airfilter is better with keeping silt at bay...but what to hear your opinions...increased power etc

I like my K&N airfilter. I have SSI's w/ a Danske. I'm to old to chip!

Stock filter. The micron size on the K&N are larger than the stock paper. It allows much more crud to possibly get through, especially if the spray coating is not applied evenly across the filter. For those that might not know, Micron is the term for how big the opening is for letting air & foreign matter into the intake.

I figured I didnt want more silt into my engine, thus stuck with stock. Plus all the mods I did which they say give 35bhp more is just smoother and a bit better throttle response.

I just drove my buddies Lambo LP640 and coming out of that car has even made his 997 Turbo that I drive extensively makes it seem darn right slow. Its all relative

The stock filters also fit better than a K&N. The rubber surround on the latter is a bit fatter and makes it more difficult to close the latches.

And ditto on the micron size. If you want more intake sound, you can drill your airbox lid. It adds at least 10 HP according to the butt dyno!

Stock, especially in the summer, which tends to be dry and dusty. I would not even mess with a gauze filter in heavy dust conditions.
