Default Carrera vs SC weight

All,

What does an SC weigh? How about a Carrera?

Best,
Matt

Learn to use the search button, there are plenty of references to weight here.

For what it may be worth ...

'78-83 SC is 2702
'84-'86 Carrera is 2812
'87-'89 Carrera is 2906

At least those are the PCA CR weights.

Actually he is just realy asking the O.P. to do a little work instead of asking to be spoonfed. I don't see an issue with it, and certainly no reason to inflame the situation and start throwing around insults. Unless of course there is some history there I am not sure of

You gotta be kidding me-what's so unique about this question? It gets asked all too often, and has been answered all too often. There are also many sources for weight. Lastly, one should probably define whether they are talking cab, coupe or Targa.

I'd say a pinhead is someone who can't even spell someone's name when it is on the screen in front of them.

As ice says, people, especially first-time posters, can often help themselves.

let's cut the needling & get to facts.
you can research the heck out of the topic, but the information won't reveal much beyond gross generalization (& cross-source comparisons - of factory figures, various authors, periodicals, individual's measurements of widely-varying spec & MY cars, are unreliable). one can only assume that a model gets heavier in subsequent years, options & market-specific specifications have a major influence on weight, & the best way to know what a car weighs is to weigh it yourself.

Uh. Hi, mlangbauer.

Welcome to Rennlist, the most happiest place on the 'net. And the most helpful. Sort of.

I wasn't needling-rather responding to a d-bag comment.

That was my comment on many different sources for weight-they all vary.

Hey Matt,

the difference between comparable coupes / targas and cabs, SC and Carreras respectively, are negligible. within a 100lbs or so. Basic rule of thumb (as KED mentioned) is earlier is lighter..... The only weight that matters is the weight of YOUR car so take it to a public scale somewhere nearby and see for yourself.

Okay, I have question about the actual topic.

What did they add to a 97-89 Carrera to make it weigh more?
