Whalebird, I believe you are correct because I remember being told by the daugheter of a local SCCA racer, retired Brig. Gen. Kilpatrick (USAF) that he always said if he were to buy a 3.2 Carrera, the '86 is the one to get. But sadly, he passed away from a massive brain hemorrage at the race track before I could ask him why he felt that way. He had a remarkable depth of knowledge about these cars, and his Speedster was featured in Excellence.
