I would guess that it is a 69, as it looks very similar to my car, (in style, not shape) LOL The side mirror is probably worth more then the rest of the car.

yup, no flare, single mirror, narrow bumper trim my guess is it's a 912 as well 66'-67'

'yeah I can fix that, I work on all types of VWs and Porshees are just bugs on steroids!'

Not that he did a very good job on the VWs judging by the mass grave yard.....

'One owner, low miles, ave 5000/year, original patina, could use a buff and a little TLC, glass is rust free.'

looks just like mine :-)

I dig the Vanagon - or the Scirocco. Good Vanagons are bringing ungodly amounts of money these days.

Got the VIN: 351773

It says that it is a '65 912 that was originally Bahama Yellow. Looked the car, and saw ground, and only ground through the drivers side foot well, probably not worth it even if he gave it to me....... But I did see this in the shop, no one was there of course.

She has three gauges making it a 912 I take it and that was about all I could tell. I could not visibly see any rust, I will investigate further......

Sorry for the bad pics through the windows.

Also '68 US cars are the first year with reflecting (not wired) front and rear side running "lights" to meet DOT requirements.

No reflectors usually means pre-'68. Sometimes they are lost/dropped in re-paints... not sure that is an issue with this car.

A side and engine/rear engine lid picture would also be helpful

Have you seen the guys on youtube with the hot busses and Vanagons? There's a kit that you can put a 1.8 Volkswagen I4(watercooled) motor into. $1200 bucks and you have a sweet minivan/camper. But they are getting real expensive for a nice one.
