Help Identifying a Monty or Borla muffler
I found this used muffler for sale. He thinks its a monty or a borla stainless muffler. Can anybody tell by looking at it? I was looking for a monty but may consider a borla too. What would be a fair price? How do I tell if its good?

Burning Brakes
It is not a Borla
That is either Monty or B&B based on the can and tip design. From mthe coloring it appears to be stainless.
I also doubt that you'll get it for $100, they clearly bring more.. lets say the $400-$600 range.

My question is: what did it come off of and why? These things are easy to tweak in the all to common rear end collision and they will often develop cracks after that.

You probably did pretty good. In all likelyhood, it's a good piece and, once on your car, will be the best $500 you've ever spent. Keep us posted and some pics when it's done. Shouldn't take more than an hour to get it mounted with new gaskets and hardware.
