Again, If I had all the money in the world, I guess I would have one in the stable. I really don't know these cars well, other than seeing a few.
So mrmerlin, you going to buy it? Give us some pics or a good story on this car. Suspence is killing me.

I am actually doing the research for a friend that may be in a position to buy this car for cheap possibly 8 to 10K.
The owner is in NY so it may take some doing,
(There is also cherry 1976 Eldorado convertible its metallic brown with a medium tan top didnt look at the inside but the outside looks excellent.
It appears as thought both of these cars have been abandoned, so we will see)
The Porsche does need a thorough going through, all fluids changed and a fresh battery, beyond that it looks like it has been sitting on a dealer showroom, no fluid leaks the tires are all full, the paint could use a wash but it looks new otherwise.
As far as pictures go, the ones I posted look exactly like the car I saw,
same color and accents, for all intensive purposes the car we are discussing is the one in the pictures posted.
I think some politicing has to happen for the sale to happen though,
I will post more when I find out the status, thanks again for all of the input, your knowledge is much appreciated

the bolster wear looks to be contained to a 2 inch section, possibly from a belt rubbing on the seating surface during ingress/egress.
My feeling is a quick rub with some shoe polish will restore the color, as the surface is still smooth no cuts or tears

911 forum usually services pre 89 owners, and interestingly among some who do not value the speedster looks.
speedsters tend to command premium pricing.....

believe me, if i was in a position to buy, and had the cash I would.
Being unemployed is not the best time to buy a car.
Right now this is just research for a friend , as he might have a shot at getting this beauty for peanuts

QUITE FRANKLY you may be better off posting on the 964 forum which is where this car fits (if its an 89) ,,,,,,

I disagree. Now is the time to buy that car for $10k and immediately flip it for $40k

That price is ludicrously low, which is why Mussberger made the ashamed comment, I believe. If it is a real price, and if the car runs even 1/2way decent and no big issues, this is as safe a 911 transaction as you'll find. In my mind.
