Default 1976 911S

I walked out of the lobby at the Modesto Howard Johnson's to find a beautiful black 1976 911S Targa. Right behind me was the original owner. He purchased it off the showroom floor in 1975. It has Less than 80,000 original miles on it. Everything from the paint to the targa top was still original. They are from Bakersfield.

I'll post the pictures after dinner.

You should have carjacked him when he was blinded by the flash.

I think it's one of the best parts of Porsche ownership. Running into people who have owned their Porsches for years, and exchanging stories. Especially the air cooled old timers. My girlfriend and I were in Modesto a few months ago visting her grandmother and had a great time there.

No, when I asked him if I could post his picture on the Porsche website "rennlist" he asked "where???"...

....and Ed, yes I'm meeting strangers in motel parking lots. We had a swinging good time.

Coincidently he was also here for a funeral. I am here for my father's funeral....

Believe it or not, I gave the eulogy.

Doug, Sorry to hear about your dad. By the way if your interested in a black/black 1976 S Targa I have one at the shop that needs some engine repairs, waiting to hear from the owner. He may want to sell. It lost cam timing on the right side and bent a couple of valves. He's owned it a long time, not sure if he's original owner. I should know more today.
Again condolences on your loss from Red Line.

Doug, condolences.

Regarding your photo subject, I don't know the man and have never seen the car. That said, Bakersfield is a big place, did you ask the gentleman who serviced his car?
