May be of interest to you fellow Rennlisters
Greetings all,
Hope I have a "pass" to post this to the technical forum. ( I must say I know many who don't even go to OT so I say it's a safe bet to go forward.......)
We've an upcoming PCA meeting (we do monthlies,..although I haven't been much of an attendee in '09 (due to work schedule) but plan to better participate '10..................., when I read the message pasted below. I felt I had to share it with the group. Maybe you guys have some questions (intelligent ones) that you'd like meet to ask of the gent in attendance...which I will gladly do, should I make the meeting..we are certainly proud of Leh, here in GA (he's a GA. boy, as you know) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He drives for Porsche now....
The paste:
To: OCMULGEE PORSCHE CLUB FAMILY & FRIENDS:
McGrath Keen has confirmed that he will attend our dinner meeting Tuesday.
He will speak about Leh's winning season in the racing circuit, their recent
visit to Germany to receive the trophy at the Porsche Banquet, and give us a
behind-the scenes update on the Rolex 24 and Patrick Dempsey's team.
To any who may be offended for the technical post of something that may be OT,.....well..............................don't give a sheeit!!!! I think it's worth it and will gladly take the chance for a many comrades who WILL have an interest (and QUESTIONS).
Moderators can delete if they feel necc'y. I respect there decision.
Let me know, guys. I'll be glad to pose questions, although I can't very well ask 50.........
Otherwise,...just ignore this post.
My very best to all,
Doyle

Edit:
Leh Keen is the racer, and McGrath Keen must be a relative.
from Porscheusa.com:
In the GT class, Dirk Werner and Leh Keen avoided taking any risks in fighting for the last points to win the title. With a consistently strong performance and four wins as well as two podium results they had managed to build up a comfortable points’ advantage. Third in Miami was enough for the pair to secure their first championship title together.
“To be honest, I was really nervous before the start. You never know what can happen at such a long race,” said Dirk Werner. “It was tough going right from the word go and you had to totally concentrate to make it to the finish.” Leh Keen added: “When I took over the car the nervousness had subsided. The boys at the front had pulled away slightly and I wasn’t prepared to take any risks and put the championship in jeopardy. Everyone in the team deserves this title and that makes us very proud.”

Leh's over in the Mazda camp now after the implosion of Farnbacher Loles. Go search the racing forum (or online) to find out what Greg Loles was up to............

His GTR was legendary in Charleston. He drove for Autometrics for a few seasons and was always around on dyno days and the test-and-tunes. Should be fun to hear his take on things.
