275/45 16x9 Fuchs- Will they fit 911SC?

You'll have a lot of work to do to fit those. Oil lines will be in the way, fender lips dealt with and wheel offsets down to a gnat's ***. People have squeezed those in, albeit few, and with the requisite work.
There are many fast SC and Carrera club racers that don't need to go to such extreme tire sizes, in fact would be penalized if they did, so it really comes down to the driver's skill to make the most of the car.

uninformed gas bag

The 7.31 r&p is not nearly as robust as the 8.31. If you have big sticky tires you will have to be very careful with your down shifts on the track. (perfect rev matches)

Thanks Mussberger. I understand what you mean. I am at even more risk being a 3.2ss, very torquey.( is that a word?) Hopefully the one-piece wevo bearing will hold it all together-so far so good.
Well, based on Hughes response, and the fact that I am kicking butt with my current set-up, I think I may just stick with 245/45 and call it a day. I don't want to roll my rear fenders, risk body damage, mess with offsets, and all that extra work. Thanks Ed. See you at a PCA event in the near future! Thanks everyone else for your comments.

I have an ‘85’ Carrera Cabriolet that originally had 16x6s and 7s Fuchs with the following dimensions:
Front-
Offset: 25mm Backspacing (5.25") Bolt Pattern: 5-130
Rec. Tire Size:205/55-16
Rear-
Offset: +17mm Backspacing (5.63") Bolt Pattern: 5-130
Rec. Tire Size:225/50-16
My Carerra and your SC should have similar space issues and limitations. I replaced the Fuchs with 17x7.5 and 9” take off rims from 2001 C4 with the following dimensions:
Front-
Offset: 52mm Backspacing (6.29") Bolt Pattern: 5-130
Rec. Tire Size: 205/50-17
Rear-
Offset: 47mm Backspacing: (6.85) Bolt Pattern: 5-130
Rec. Tire Size: 255/40-17
In order to accommodate the change in offset between original and takeoff rims I purchased and installed: MC Motorsports “hubcentric” bolt on wheel spacers @ 1” (25.4 mm) front & 1 ½” (38.1 mm) rear. I understand that some club racing rules require pass-through spacer and bolts and not hubcentric spacers and bolts. The seller of rims thought that I could have gone with 1-3/4" and maybe even 2" spacers in the rear; however, I did not want to risk rubbing the fenders during hard cornering.
7 x 16 Fuchs had 23mm offset, and the 9 x 16 Fuchs have 15 mm offset. These Fuchs came only on the 911 Turbos of our vintage, will fit your car without spacers (they were fitted to the Turbos with spacers). Compare this to the 17" cups, 7.5" wide in front, 9" in the rear, practically the same width as the Turbo Fuchs, but with 55 mm offset front and rear. You cannot even bolt the 9" cups to your car - the tires will hit the shock and other suspension pieces.

Later model wheels just don't look right on our cars, IMO. Why even mess with wrong offsets and spacers when there are great alternatives available nowadays?

No, you weren't. He asked specifically about 16 X 9 Fuchs, and really more specifically, the large tire size. There are tons of threads about what 16 X 9 Fuchs fit SC's and Carreras. The novelty of his question is 275 width.

Wow, thin skinned when the mistake is pointed out? Again, try to comprehend the question here, and make a meaningful contribution.
