Default quick opinions needed.

I have an opportunity to buy a black/black 1981 911sc with a built 3.2 engine. The car has just over 100k & the engine swap was done less than 10k ago. Couldn't find any rust, interior is very good, body is superb - just one ding that would easily be removed....

The front bumper & plastic trim fit PERFECTLY on the car....

I could get it for 11.5k....

What do you think?

PPI would definitely happen & determine my ultimate decision - just curious in your opinions.

A PPI is mandatory for ALL used cars and these are no exception,.....

I would also ask who built the engine and the details of what was done.

I think approx 3k mi / yr is pretty low - but not impossible, of course. & SC engines are long-lasting, so what's the car's complete history & how 'bout documentation of ownerships & service records? Has it been repainted, any accidents & etc - make sure the PPI includes a thorough going-over by an expert on old 911 chassis. $11.5k could be a great deal (sounds good to me, on the surface)... or your first deposit on a 29 yr old car w/ issues-to-be-revealed that might take you past $20k in a hurry. good luck!
